Who We Are
NoTVAPipelines is jointly run by Appalachian Voices and the Sierra Club to create a space for elevating community concerns related to TVA’s proposed gas projects.
We believe deeply in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s founding mission to provide electricity for all and make life better for the people of the Tennessee Valley. Instead of swapping coal with polluting methane gas, we know that TVA can lead the way by creating good union jobs to power the region with clean energy.
To bring TVA back to its mission, it must represent the needs of the people it serves, not moneyed interests. That is why it needs to stop building gas plants and making back-room deals with multi-billion dollar pipeline giants Enbridge and Kinder Morgan. These projects threaten our water, our landscapes, and our people.
This website is dedicated to providing information about two privately owned gas pipelines — Ridgeline and Cumberland — and the TVA gas power plants they would feed. We lift up the stories of the people impacted by these projects and share resources about getting involved in grassroots efforts to stop them.
Join us in protecting our Valley and our future.
